ماهی سفید کانادا در حال انقراض است

 ماهی سفید کانادا در حال انقراض است

 رودخانه فریزر "بریتیش کلمبیا" ماوای بزرگترین جمعیت ماهی سفید ساکن کانادا است، اما نسل این ماهی اکنون در حال انقراض می‌باشد و‌ دولت فدرال برای حفاظت این‌گونه‌ی در حال انقراض بیشتر تلاش خواهد کرد.

داده‌های انجمن حفاظت از رودخانه فریزر نشان می‌دهد که از سال 2013، جمعیت ماهیان خاویاری کوچک (تا طول 140 سانتی‌متری) در قسمت پایینی رودخانه فریزر به حدود14500  عدد کاهش یافته است.از جمله عوامل موثر در کاهش تعداد ماهی‌ها‌ استفاده از تور‌های نوع آبشاری و یا ایستاده است که توسط شرکت‌های تجاری و ماهیگیران بومی استفاده می‌شود.
