A few months ago, I made a big decision—I sold all my fishing gear, including centerpins, baitcasters, and ice fishing rods. From now on, I’m dedicating myself fully to fly fishing with single-hand and spey rods.

Many people told me I wouldn’t succeed and that I’d regret my decision, but I didn’t listen. I kept pushing forward, fishing every chance I got, and I proved them wrong. I achieved success in December, even before the prime season started—a challenging and proud accomplishment!

Now, everyone has seen my steelhead spey fishing videos on my YouTube channel. When I walk along the river, people recognize me, give me a thumbs-up, and say, ‘Ebi, you’ve done an amazing job!’ That steelhead moment is unforgettable, and being recognized for it is such an honor for me.

I also have a deep passion for writing, just like fly fishing, which I’ve been doing for over eighteen years. I started both in my home country, Iran, and loved every moment of it. However, after immigrating to Canada, things became much harder for me. Learning English made it difficult to write like I used to. Back then, I used to write and publish all my articles on my blog, and I miss that part of my life.
