Last weekend, we set off for an amazing bass fishing adventure at Pitt Marsh, right beside Pitt Lake. This serene spot, surrounded by nature, is one of the best-kept secrets for largemouth bass in the region.

We geared up with our favorite techniques, starting with the tried-and-true Texas rig and the versatile wacky rig. For lures, we chose the classic 5-inch Senko worm—its subtle action in the water is unbeatable. Our rods were medium-heavy, giving us that perfect balance between sensitivity and power. And, of course, we paired them with braided lines ranging from 15 to 20 pounds, topped with a 10 to 15-pound leader. We used size 2 hooks to keep our presentations subtle but effective.
Pitt Marsh didn’t disappoint. As the morning mist lifted and the sun warmed the water, we started getting hits. The bass were active, and we could feel every subtle tug on the line. Between the peaceful surroundings and the thrill of landing a few big ones, it was a day we won’t forget.
