Fly Fishing at Plateau Lake, British Columbia. On our recent trip to Plateau Lake, we had an incredible day fly fishing for rainbow trout. Using a fast sinking fly line, we got down to about 10 to 15 feet, which turned out to be the sweet spot. The best flies were brown leech, vampire leech, and brown Woolly Bugger.

We used a 9-foot leader with4-pound test, and a slow steady strip retrieve with little pauses. Once we locked into the right depth, the action was consistent. We landed many beautiful trout that day.

Plateau Lake is definitely one of those hidden gems worth visiting for any fly angler.
